Vintage Mason's Fruit Basket Brown Transferware Round Platter

A vintage Mason's Patent Ironstone round platter in the classic Fruit Basket pattern, printed in warm brown on a white ground. At its center, a woven basket overflows with melons, grapes, berries and other fruit among vine leaves, with a butterfly hovering above. Sprays of fruit and flowers circle the well, and a scrolling border set with small flower heads follows the gently scalloped rim. At 13 inches across, it makes a generous showpiece on a plate stand or dresser shelf, or hung on a wall, and it sits beautifully with other English brown transferware.
