Vintage French Black Stoneware Pot with Two Handles

A vintage French stoneware pot with a deep black exterior, two loop handles and a rolled rim, glazed inside in a glossy amber brown. A fine incised line circles the shoulder, and the black surface has worn back in places to the warm clay beneath, giving it a soft, timeworn character. It looks wonderful on an open shelf or kitchen counter, filled with wooden spoons, or holding a loose bunch of dried flowers or branches.
