vintage-masons-fruit-basket-brown-transferware-round-platter
Vintage Mason's Fruit Basket Brown Transferware Round Platter

A vintage Mason's Patent Ironstone round platter in the classic Fruit Basket pattern, printed in warm brown on a white ground. At its center, a woven basket overflows with melons, grapes, berries and other fruit among vine leaves, with a butterfly hovering above. Sprays of fruit and flowers circle the well, and a scrolling border set with small flower heads follows the gently scalloped rim. At 13 inches across, it makes a generous showpiece on a plate stand or dresser shelf, or hung on a wall, and it sits beautifully with other English brown transferware.

Details

Origin: England

Maker: Mason's

Pattern: Fruit Basket

Material: Ironstone

Dimensions: 13" Diameter

Color / Finish: Warm brown transfer print on a white ground with a glossy glaze

Marks: Brown crowned "Mason's Patent Ironstone" backstamp with "Fruit Basket" in script, "England" and "Permanent Detergent Proof Decoration"

Quantity: Two available, sold individually.
