Water spills over the stony weir while an angler sits fishing at the water's edge, with leafy trees and meadows beyond, birds overhead and russet foliage along the near bank. It is signed M. K. Hamer at the lower right, with the artist's label and a handwritten title on the back, and sits in an ornate gold-tone frame.
